Use this tool to profile vocabulary. Instructions: (1) Enter text in the box below. (2) Choose a list from the options (default is GSL+AWL). (3) Click Submit.

Shows words and frequencies in the GSL (General Service List) and AWL (Academic Word List). Options:
Shows words and frequencies in the NGSL (New General Sevice List) and the NAWL (New AWL).
Combines the New-GSL with the AVL. Note: these lists have a big overlap. Identifies AVL words first.
This uses the BNC/COCA corpus and shows frequencies from 1k (most frequent 1000 words) to 25k. Also shows proper nouns, compound words and acronyms. Choose format:
This shows frequencies of words in the New-GSL (New General Service List).
This shows frequencies in the AVL (Academic Vocabulary List).
This shows frequencies in the AKL (Academic Keyword List).
This shows frequencies in the CSAVL (Computer Science AVL).

Combines the New-GSL and AVL with a technical list, the SVL (lemma version). Please select a subject.
Combines the GSL with a technical list, the MSVL. Please select a subject.
Shows frequencies in 8 subjects of the SVL (Secondary School Vocabulary Lists). Choose version:
Shows frequencies in 5 subject areas of the MSVL (Middle School Vocabulary Lists).
