How to deal with unknown words

Postby Scarlett QIN » Thu Dec 04, 2014 1:19 pm

From time to time, I read again and circle words I do not know due to the fact that I am not sure whether I need to know the meaning of words or not during my reading.

HI Scarlett. This isn't really a question. Can you clarify what the difficulty is? This will help to get a good answer to your problem.

Using Context. The most common way to guess the meaning of a word is to use the context. That is to say, you can use the other words in the same sentence or other sentences in the same paragraph to guess the meaning of an unfamiliar word.
